![]() altough my damage is great if my ranger gets hit it get's into trouble. You shouldn't need to do this all the way through the game so you can respec the points in Act 2, but lone wolf definitely leaves you with enough points to do it if you like. That way, whatever is the best armour you come across, you can use. Lone wolf has tons of points and is so overpowered early that you can make fin or int 12 to be able to equip different armour types and build a balanced armour character. There is a temporary solution to the armour issue early in the game if it is causing you that much grief. It sounds like you are early in the playthrough. On my party with 4 chars my warrior demolishes evertything so i guess i can make it work with lone wolf pretty easy them. It's a really good synergy but i wanna try two handed when i get some better armor them. I have tentacle lash and does tremendous amounts of damage, because most of the time my ranger is doing the easy work of getting rid of armor and then i'm using cc on the enemy. and i can feel that because i get cc a lot. that's why i din't reply earlier.well i'm doing some good damage with sword and shield but my problem is that i din't get a lot of good armor yet, i can do a lot more damage with 2handed but my armor gets from 100 to 50. Working isn't the same as being good relative to other options however.Įverything you said is true but some people just like playing a certain class even if it's not the best thing in the entire game so arguing about whether or not one handed is a ''good'' class is kinda irrelevant. The point I'm making is that you can make something that does literally the same things but with far more damage and better performance.Īny build can be made to work. Many players really liked their "tank" and found them to be a very useful part of their team and so they will defend the one hand and shield build. While it can be made to work, one hand and shield is inferior to literally anything else as almost nothing that makes it good is exclusive to it and most of the benefits are redundant or unnecessary if you're playing well. This means that having a shield on a strength character is very redundant and mostly irrelevant. Since dodge is already a powerful counter to physical damage as is through evasion, high physical protection isn't as important or relevant as magic protection is. Hence why trading to a dagger and finesse armor is a better choice as it helps keep that magic protection higher. ![]() Strength weapons are also a poor choice for shields since shields offer a higher amount of physical armor compared to magic and strength armor already has a high physical with little magic protection making it kinda repetitive. So while you can make one hand and shield better with these spells, you can make *any* build better using these spells. The thing to note is that all the things someone will tell you that makes one hand and shield good, aren't exclusive to one hand and shield weapon setup. The only spell there you lose is shield toss, but shield toss isn't that great when compared to the damage you can get just by using a better weapon combo. Bull rush, Tentacle lash and all that work just fine with Two handers. See, while that's all true, there's no reason to go one handed for this. other then that your preference on build. save battering ram and battle stomp for cc if you have the space. then I pop adrenaline rush and follow with shield throw and tentacle lash. if i am too far a way, bulls rush gets me into range and causes them to start bleeding. ![]() I can usually strip armor with a shield throw fallowed by tentacle lash in first round leaving opponent Atrophy and unable to attack. if you have torture perk that effect bypasses armor. bulls rush does more damage then battering ram and causes bleeding. and damage is equivalent to swinging a two-hander. Tentacle Lash scales with str and warfare, not weapon. Replace Crippling blow with Tentacle lash, and battering ram with bullsrush. Originally posted by vondego:Actually yes.
